The timing isn't as difficult as knowing where the buttons are on the controller, but the good news is if you fail your backup system will kick in (although you only have a limited number system reboots). The button required will appear transparent for a few seconds, then become opaque, at which point you'll need to press it. You'll be given a series of buttons to press to jump start your heart. Have no fear though, as your suit can function as its own defibrillator provided it's given the correct commands. When you take too much damage your heart will go into cardiac arrest. If you are getting impatient and want to cut down on your flight time, send some juice to your rocket boots. Routing power to Thrusters is tactically useless.
It's helpful to route power to Weapons when you overheat your Repulsors and they stall, just switch back to Even after you quickly cool off so you won't be forced to use the Unibeam if you don't want to. This chargeable blast of energy is strong, but slow, and leaves your Armor short on power, which can be deadly. Routing power to Weapons gives you the use of your Unibeam when armed with your Repulsors. If you Armor meter fully depletes, you'll have to restart your heart. Your Propulsion and Weapons systems aren't something you'll want to hinder for too long. Other than that, it's useful to route power to Armor if you are expecting a hand-to-hand fight. Routing power Armor will save your neck if your Armor meter turns red.
Routing power to any one component will leave the others without enough juice to hold their own, so keeping power routed to 'Even' should be status quo.
